Johannesburg Polytech Institute (JPI) traces its origins to the advent of South African democracy in 1994. Starting with a modest enrollment of just 60 pupils, JPI has since flourished into an educational institution serving over 2,000 students, from Grade R to high school. Throughout its 18 years of existence, JPI has earned a reputation as one of the most esteemed schools in the inner city of Johannesburg, specifically located in Doornfontein.
Since its inception in 1997, JPI has been dedicated to providing quality education to thousands of boys and girls. This commitment to excellence was underscored in July 2015 when the school relocated from its original premises in the old University of Johannesburg building near Park Station on Eloff Street to a new, state-of-the-art facility in Doornfontein. The new campus, adjacent to the Doornfontein Train Station and located at 29 Siemert Road with the entrance on 10 Sherwell Street, is known as the Education Complex Centre. This move marked a significant milestone in the school’s journey, allowing it to expand its resources and continue its mission of educational excellence.
